07 Nov Making a Difference: The Simple Things
Making a Difference
The other day I received a greeting card for the express purpose to follow my dreams and embrace my unique talents. The inside of the card simply said “Always remember to keep doing your thing.” Sometimes it is the simple things which make the difference in your day.
The Simple Things
The simple act of kindness can be paid forward. It doesn’t take a financial investment to call someone and say “I appreciate having you in my life.” “Thank You for all you do!” Did you know thank you are the two most under utilized words in the English vocabulary? Let’s make the simple change.
Pay it Forward
Take the time each day to say Thank You. We don’t need a national holiday to pay it forward. Let people know you are thinking about them. Appreciate what you have and live each day as if it is your last. In the words of Tim McGraw, “Hold the door, say “please”, say “thank you”. Don’t steal, don’t cheat, and don’t lie. I know you got mountains to climb. But always stay humble and kind. When the dreams you’re dreamin’ come to you. When the work you put in is realized. Let yourself feel the pride. But always stay humble and kind.”
Thank You
I am so grateful for the card, the message, the time you took to send it to me. Most importantly I am grateful for having people like this in my life. You never know when these random acts of kindness can be just what a person needs to move forward. Please don’t underestimate the impact you have on others. It’s the simple things in life which are remembered and appreciated. There is no need to wait until November 24th to say thank you. Take a moment each day to say Thank You. Be a role model and pay it forward.
