23 Feb Be Fearless in the Pursuit of What Sets Your Soul On-Fire
“Be Fearless in the Pursuit of What Sets Your Soul On-Fire” – unknown
I love this quote! It brings so many images to mind, particularly when Dorothy, Scarecrow, Lion and the Tin Man are approaching the Great & Powerful Oz. All of them shaking in their shoes and still moving forward because what they wanted was more important than the fear they were feeling.
Are you someone who allows fear to control you? Or are you someone who overcomes your fears by making choices which are best for you? Life is about choices. Choices help you move in a different direction. If you don’t make a choice someone else will make it for you. What choices will you make to set your soul on-fire?
Be Fearless!
Two words which are simple and complex at the same time. To be fearless means you would have to know how to overcome your fears. Try these three steps 1) Be grateful for what you are about to experience. Think about ‘what if’ and how this can help you see other possibilities. 2) Re-frame the situation. Instead of focusing on the fear focus on the positive. 3) Share your fears. Solicit a friend, family member, spouse or partner to go with you or to listen to your fears. The use of these three strategies will help you on your journey to be fearless!
In the Pursuit….
In Pursuit is the action you take to chase your dreams and hopes. Consider 1) Banish the doubt and negativity in your head 2) Acknowledge your dreams 3) Keep asking yourself “What if…” 4) Be open to changing your mindset. Pursuit, means you are taking action and moving towards something.
What Sets Your Soul On Fire?
What sets your soul on fire? This is the most impactful part of the quote. Setting your soul on fire comes from within. No one can do this for you. Contemplate these questions 1) What ignites action from within? 2) What excites you about doing something new? 3) What does happiness look like for you? All of these questions should help you find what sets your soul on fire.
Finale
The finale of the movies was about Dorothy coming home. Did you think about the fact that Dorthy could have come home at any time? She had the power within her to click her heels and come home at any time. The two key takeaways 1) Change happens from within. 2) You have the power to do whatever you want to do in life.
The question I leave all of you with is: What are you going to do to set your soul on fire?
